Margaret Brunn's professional journey in real estate leadership, investment, and strategic growth.

Margaret Brunn has built her career through leadership roles spanning acquisitions, asset management, investment analysis, real estate operations, and strategic business growth. Since joining A&E Real Estate in 2012, she has helped drive the firm's expansion while playing a key role in shaping its long-term investment strategy.

As President of A&E Real Estate, Margaret oversees all aspects of the organization, including operations, investments, financings, capital programs, and dispositions. She is actively involved in defining the firm's strategic direction and contributes to major business and investment decisions through her roles on the Management Committee and Investment Committee.

In addition to leading the firm's core business, Margaret has guided A&E Real Estate's expansion into real estate lending. In 2024, she spearheaded the launch of A&E Real Estate Finance (AEREF), a debt financing platform created to address financing gaps resulting from the contraction of regional bank lending. AEREF originates and services first mortgage loans for multifamily residential properties across the New York Metro region, leveraging A&E Real Estate's operational expertise and market intelligence as one of the area's largest multifamily owners and operators. Under Margaret's leadership, the platform has established a fully integrated lending team that manages the complete loan lifecycle, reinforcing A&E Real Estate's position as both an owner-operator and capital partner.

Before joining A&E Real Estate, Margaret was part of the acquisitions group at Greenfield Partners, a $2.6 billion real estate investment fund. There, she identified, evaluated, and underwrote investment opportunities while conducting portfolio-level analyses that supported fund performance and investment strategy.

Earlier in her career, Margaret worked at Urban American, where she managed responsibilities across acquisitions, dispositions, investor relations, and asset management. Her experience included overseeing condominium conversion assets while supporting the firm's broader investment and operational objectives.
